About Session

On October 22, 2025, after a years-long investigation, the New Jersey Attorney General filed a complaint in New Jersey Superior Court alleging that Amazon systematically violated the civil rights of pregnant workers and workers with disabilities in its warehouses across the state, discriminating against them and denying them reasonable accommodations.

The issue is not contained to one state. Hundreds of workers across 39 states and counting have reported challenges accessing pregnancy accommodations at Amazon, one of the country’s largest employers. More than 700 firsthand accounts point to routine violations of the federal Pregnant Workers Fairness Act nationwide and severe consequences for worker health, job security, and economic stability at a critical moment in their lives. Worker reports are severe: premature labor, miscarriages on the job, and failures to accommodate that have led to loss of income and benefits—even pushing some employees into homelessness with their newborns.

This issue has generated sustained momentum through worker advocacy and ongoing dialogue, yet meaningful policy change has not crossed the finish line. This workshop is designed to brief investors on the scope of the worker impact and the current moment of opportunity. It will explore why investor engagement matters now, how investor voice can reinforce worker-led efforts, and what constructive pressure can look like when there is alignment between workforce realities and long-term shareholder interests.

With momentum already built, this is a moment where informed investor action can help translate advocacy into durable policy outcomes that protect workers and reduce long-term risk.
