About Wilma Liebman

Wilma B. Liebman was named Chairman of the National Labor Relations Board in January 2009 by President Obama. She served as Chairman until August 2011. Since then, she has served in many advisory roles and has taught at several universities and law schools, currently at NYU Law School. Wilma was first appointed as a Member of the NLRB in 1997 by President Clinton and was twice reappointed by President Bush. Earlier, she served as Deputy Director of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, and Counsel for the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen and for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
