About Session

ICCR members started engaging Nike on nonpayment of workers in the Nike supply chain in late 2023. Repeated letters, signed by over 60 investors with AUM of over $4 trillion, went unanswered. Investors escalated to a shareholder resolution, which garnered 17% of the independent vote in September 2024. Thereafter, investors considered the next move, now subject to the political and regulatory constraints of the current Administration. This session will explore how advocacy efforts outside of and related to the investor space – including complaints to the Oregon Investment Council and the Oregon Labor Board, as well as a visit from workers in the Nike supply chain – have reinvigorated efforts to hold the giant garment and footwear maker to account.
